May 1st | Mc Donnell acquires the Douglas aircraft corporation. The DC-8 and DC-9 – programs as well as the new wide-body project are saved. |
Mid 1967 | DC-10-3 and DC-10-4 are presented to the public, together with the DC-10-J2/J3. A further analysis of these designs led to the three-engine configuration. |
