MONARCH AIRLINES
(United Kingdom)

The long-established charter operator Monarch Airlines from the United Kingdom chose the DC-10-30 for long-haul flights to Florida which joined the fleet on March 13th 1996 and started services four days later. The inaugural flight was from London Gatwick to Alicante in Spain, but the main route for the DC-10 is London - Orlando. It was intended to lease a second aircraft, but this plan was dropped. The current fleet consists of A320/321, A300-600, 757 and A330-200 aircraft only after the DC-10 was phased out in 2001.
