In the time when the eastern block collapsed, LOTs expansion boomed and all sowjet aircraft were sold within 4 years, replaced by 767, 737-400/500 and ATR72. But even these aircraft were too small for the transatlantic routes during high season and so LOT came into the DC-10 - club leasing an aircraft from Finnair in 1994 and later two other from Malaysian in 1994 and 1995. This boom didn't last very long and also more 767-300s were added to the fleet, so that there have been no such leases in the recent time. Perhaps LOT will lease somewhen a fourth DC-10...
